Granting your tax practitioner access to your e-filing profile allows them to manage your tax affairs efficiently, ensuring timely submissions and compliance with tax regulations. By following these simple steps, you can securely authorise their access while maintaining control over your account.
Step 1: Log in to SARS eFiling
- Go to the SARS eFiling website.
- Log in using your taxpayer credentials.
Step 2: Invite Your Tax Practitioner
- Click on “User” at the top of the page.
- On the left-hand menu, click “User”,
- Then select “Invite User”.
- Select South African ID as the identification type.
- Enter your tax practitioner’s ID number and surname, then click “Invite”.
- You need to wait till the system uploads the next page (this may take 30 seconds)

Step 3: Set permissions
- Ensure the System Default user group is selected.
- Leave any permissions that have already been ticked.
- Tick the following permissions:
- SARS Registrations
- Manage Users
- Manage Taxpayers
- Manage Groups
- Directives
- Perform Bulk and Additional Payments
- Click “Continue”.
- This will take you to a summary page where you will click “continue” again.
- The invitation is now sent and will appear as a request on your tax practitioner’s profile, which they need to accept.
I am really struggling to get an apn payment done as the customs tab is not showing on top menu of the tax practitioner’s profile. I have exhausted all the AI advise and still cannot find a solution. Isn’t there clear instructions somewhere that really help? The booklets are not giving the details that I am looking for. They speak of a customs tab and I don’t see it. Can someone please assist me as the call centre is not worth calling in this regard. I even send a email to the pcc centre just to get a reply that doesn’t mean anything.
Hi Henrietta,
Can you not reach out to your professional body, they should be able to give you guidance.
I am not an efiling specialist so unfortunately am not able to assist.
If you need tax advice please do not hesitate to reach out.
